  • The Best Peanut Butter Pie

    The Best Peanut Butter Pie

I will admit I have not tried all the recipes that are in “Welcome to the Kitchen.” However that being said I indeed tried this recipe with a little tweaking of course. I myself don’t like that zing flavor in peanut butter pie has do to the cream cheese. So I only put in half of whatever the recipe calls for so it does not taste rich. So it’s listed below for your delight. I found it to be so good I found it difficult to stop after one slice.

If you like this recipe please leave a comment. Until we meet again have a blessed day.

  • Look What I found On Amazon.

Look What I found On Amazon.

“Some links on this page are affiliate links. A small commission is earned for purchases made through the links in this post. At no extra cost to you.

I buy a lot from Amazon, and I know I am not the only one who does this. I wouldn’t say I am anti-social. however why would I get dressed to go out to the stores just to be met with frustrations. One of those frustrations would be trying to find a good parking place or using gas to get there. When I can be on my couch browsing through Amazon, I mean if you think about it I would be doing a big favor to the environment, I would be just adding to the toxic air if I was using my vehicle. I will also be saving my family money by not using gas. Some may even call me a hero. It is all how you look at it.

When I find things that can help others, I have to share what I found. I know what I think is awesome might not be awesome to others, and I understand that, but you just might like what I found. When I buy from Amazon I don’t buy just stuff. I try and buy practical items. With a few things mentioned just because they are cute.

Girls A-Line Skirt with Built-in Shorts

When you have kids you want to get clothes that not only make them look nice but also make them feel comfortable. I recently attended a function where the dress code is skirts for women and children. Now some little girls snuggle while sitting and playing in a skirt. Or maybe you don’t want them to worry about keeping their dress down and to just be a kid. I found on Amazon the cutest skirt that has shorts built right into the skirt. No more searching for shorts that will fit nicely under the skirt. You can use this link to find it on Amazon. https://amzn.to/4mtdbHE. It comes in 3 different lengths. Mini skirts, knee length, and shin length. The material has a soft and spandex feel to it. The rating I would give this out of 5 stars would be 4.6 only because I wished they came with pockets. But I will definitely will be buying more colors.

Interchangeable Gnome Welcome Sign Fall Halloween Front Porch Decor Seasonal Wood Gnomes Door

So this interchangeable gnome welcome sign is actually really cute. I am not a big seasonal decorator if that’s the correct way of saying that, I don’t know . This little gnome welcome sign comes in like 4 different sayings. https://amzn.to/4mB7nw6. It also comes with 10 different outfit changes that represent like 8 major holidays and then for the times there isn’t a holiday there is outfit in the season that is currently going on. The sign is a Gnome and you can change his hat and a sign that you can place onto the sign. I would rate this 5 out of 5 stars simple yet fun.

Outlet Extender with Night Light, HANYCONY Multi Plug Outlet, USB Wall Charger Surge Protector 4 USB Ports(1 USB C), Power Strip Electrical Outlet Splitter Expander for Home Office Dorm Room

This product helped me set up a microwave/tea and coffee bar. Not only does the outlet extender have more plugs that made my life easier it also had USB ports. https://amzn.to/3HQBBMa Nowadays when you buy something electronic it only comes with a USB cord. If that wasn’t enough, it also comes with a light that only comes on when it’s dark enough giving just enough light to the area you have plugged it in at. I would give this rating 5 out of 5 stars. I will be posting more amazon feel free to post a comment if you purchased a product I spoke about. Can’t wait to read the comments and I hope that these products works well for you as they had me. Until we meet again Have a blessed day. Hey I would like to know if you like the reviews. You can let me know by leaving a comment “yes” or just hit the like button.

  • The Little You, Needs You

    The Little You, Needs You

Can you remember what it was like to be a child? I can, sort of… but mostly in flashes. As we grow up, we slowly forget our little selves—and that’s exactly what happened to me. The moment I turned 18, my younger self felt like a distant dream, just background chatter in my brain, like some old cartoon playing on a loop I couldn’t turn off.

As adults, it’s so easy to forget the foundation that makes us who we are. I’ll be honest—because this blog is all about being raw and real—I have a wounded inner child. And right now, I’m trying to heal her. Honestly, she’s a little dramatic, throws the occasional tantrum, and insists on ice cream for breakfast—but hey, who wouldn’t want to understand that version of themselves?

How do I plan on understanding my inner child? Well, the first step is acknowledging that she exists—and that’s often harder than it sounds. What adult really wants to admit that the way they handle their emotions might be rooted in their inner child? For the longest time, I ignored mine.

Then something happened that gave me a real epiphany. Back when I was a young mother with three kids aged 6, 4, and 2, I would get overwhelmed so easily. I was trying to go to college while keeping the house as organized as possible with three little ones running around. I admit, I yelled a lot. I lost my temper more than I care to remember. My children would often quiet down when I got frustrated. Looking back, I realize I was parenting the way I had seen my parents handle six kids—without truly understanding what that meant for my own children or for myself.

Our triggers as adults—those little buttons that get pressed in an instant—often trace back to the injustices we felt as children. If we face them head-on, we might just grow into better versions of ourselves. But here’s the thing: we forget we even have an inner child waiting in the wings.

I’m not here as a psychiatrist—or claiming to have all the answers. I’m speaking from a vulnerable place, challenging myself to reconnect with my inner little girl. To ask questions like, Why do certain situations set me off so easily? I’m not saying every adult struggles with this, and I’m certainly no expert.

To make it easier to picture, think about the movie The Adam Project. The story is wild: a guy from the future tries to come back to find his wife, but the landing goes wrong, and instead, he ends up running into his 12-year-old self. Imagine that—the awkwardness, the confusion, the chaos! But also, the chance to understand your younger self, to face the past, and maybe even offer a little reassurance.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do with my inner child—face her, talk to her, and maybe give her the love and understanding she didn’t always get. It’s scary, awkward, and yes, sometimes hilarious—but also incredibly healing. And honestly, who wouldn’t want a little time-travel moment to hug their younger self and tell her, It’s going to be okay?

To make it easier to picture, think about the movie The Adam Project. Ryan Reynolds plays Adam, a guy who accidentally bumps into his 12-year-old self while time traveling. If you know Ryan Reynolds, you know he’s sarcastically funny—and he wastes no time being mean to his younger self, calling him weak and pathetic. Long story short (without spoiling too much), the movie is really about learning to listen to your inner child and work together—even when it’s awkward, frustrating, or hilariously insulting.

That’s kind of what I’m trying to do with my own inner child—face her, talk to her, and maybe give her the love and understanding she didn’t always get. It’s scary, awkward, and yes, sometimes hilarious—but also incredibly healing. And honestly, who wouldn’t want a little time-travel moment to tell their younger self, You’ve got this… and stop crying over spilled milk!

If you take a moment to reflect and realize you have an inner child wound, that’s actually the first step in the healing process. I’ll end things here, but before I go, I want to say this: the purpose of this blog isn’t to accuse anyone of having a wounded inner child. It’s simply to encourage anyone reading this who knows their little self needs attention—you’re not alone. That little version of you needs your love and care more than you might realize.

  • Natural Is Always Better.

    Natural Is Always Better.

Hey there, I want to talk about natural products today, Natural products work better with your body. I want to mainly talk about natural skin products. I am not talking about make-up because I don’t wear makeup; I’m plain Jade (see what I did there, because I go by Jade). I don’t know about you, but my skin is really sensitive, and I have to be careful about what products I use. When I go shopping for products for my hair, skin, aliments. Whatever the case may be I try to buy products with natural ingredients as much as possible. Because natural is always better for your body.

    Milk + Manuka
When I found this product, I was looking for something to re-fresh my face you know what I mean? Manuka helped me look good for my age. Before I get to the benefits of Milk + Manuka I want to say this. I am a HUGE Amazon shopper and I get like 99% of my stuff from Amazon ( My husband loves when we get deliveries). All of the products we are going to talk about in different posts came from Amazon. I am a big researcher I will research things for days before I purchase an item. Manuka is a type of honey produced in New Zealand and Australia from the nectar of a Manuka tree.

    Acne Treatment

Manuka honey has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce acne breakout by fighting the bacteria that would cause pimples and the redness that comes along with acne breakouts.

    Moisture Retention

Manuka honey any moisture in the skin it draws it to the surface which helps your skin look hydrated, supple and most of all smooth by repairing the natural moisture barrier. Manuka honey is good for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. I recently helped a friend of mine Danae get a bit of relief with her skin irritation. I bought it to look more youthful. I did know that Manuka honey would help with moisture, But even I was surprised when she was like it don’t itch I was so happy that I helped find something that could help while being gentle on her skin.

When I purchased this on Amazon I was skeptical to say the least, but once I tried it made my skin feel tighter and smoother. When I tell people my oldest child is 17 they always seemed shocked and say ” you look to young to have a 17 year old”. I’m not saying it’s all honey related, because I am blessed to have good genes when it comes to looking at our age. However it doesn’t hurt to have extra protection, am I right?

Manuka honey worked for me you can find it on Amazon this is the link,https://a.co/d/1CprbOa. Thank you for reading my post Manuka honey. I wanted to talk about other skin products that I found , but I did’t want to overwhelm you. So that will have to wait for another time. If you like this post feel free to hit the like button or comment Manka. I try and post two times a week. Thanks again and have a Blessed Day. Before I go I just wanted to say feel free to leave a comment I look at them personally. If you’re too shy to do that then go ahead and hit that like button. • How to Get rid of Ants Helpful Tips and Tricks

How to Get rid of Ants Helpful Tips and Tricks

Life can be hard at times and I’m sure some of you have heard of life hacks. Well I have researched a few that I be willing to share. Now I must admit I haven’t tried all these Life hacks myself. However if anything I share can help any of you guys that makes me so happy. So without further delay lets get into it.

Hate Ants crawling on the counter and it’s just about dinner time? You could go to Walmart and buy the chemical spray and hope it don’t affect the food or… You could go the natural way. Hear me out, essential oils there are 8 essential oils that can help you. Ready? Peppermint, Tea Tree, Clove, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Orange, and Cinnamon. In a spray bottle, add 20 or so drops of the oil listed above or a blend of these oils and mix it with water. Spray along windowsills, baseboards, and door ways. Well that will do it for Life Hack I hope it helps. I personally have used orange and vinegar mixed with water and if you can get past the smell of vinegar it works.

  • Your New Go-To : Chocolate Chip Amish Sugar Cookie

Your New Go-To : Chocolate Chip Amish Sugar Cookie

Let me first tell you how I came across this recipe. My oldest took a class in high school called ” Into to foreign cultures”, and in this class you learned about 6 different cultures. After each section the kids had to make or bring something that represented the culture they just learned about.

So my daughter was like mom, I chose Amish because it’s also part of our culture. So I went to https://www.pinterest.com/pin/414049759512798445/ ( after hrs of looking for something I easily cook bake). These cookies let me tell you it was so good. They were light and fluffy and not overly sweet. I will put the a link where you can find the recipe here https://thegoldlininggirl.com/2019/06/chocolate-chip-amish-sugar-cookies/#wprm-recipe-container-23050. So my daughter and I attempted to bake these cookies hoping they would be good. I never heard of Amish Chocolate cookies before. Would they taste as the chocolate chip cookies I was used to eating? So we made enough for the small class she had and we had a few left over. We had to give them a taste to see if we could predict if she would get a good grade for this section. When we tasted them all I can say is YUM! Needless to say she got A on this section. The teacher even asked for the recipe. These cookies have become our number one cookie to make, when the holidays come around. Or if we are in the mood for something sweet. Try them they are so good. I would love to hear if you tried this recipe and what you thought about it. Until then have a Blessed Day.

    Servings48

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup butter softened
    • 1 cup vegetable or canola oil
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
    • 2 cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 2 cups regular semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, oil, and sugars until combined.
    • Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
    • In two additions, add flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating until just combined. Do not overmix. Dough will be kinda fluffy and light!
    • Fold in all chocolate chips.
    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
    • Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto baking sheets.
    • Bake at 375 for 8-11 minutes, or until edges and bottoms are lightly browned.
    • Remove to wire racks to cool.
    • Store cookies in airtight containers in a cool, dry place. Stack cookies with parchment paper or foil in-between layers. Cookies will keep for about a week.

    Notes

These are good for at least a week, but best within the first 3 days. After 3 days, they get crumbly and a bit on the drier side – still a delicious cookie though.

These freeze really well! Iced or plain, they freeze beautifully.

  • Where I Started to Where I am Now!

Where I Started to Where I am Now!

So lets go back to the year 2012, I know that’s a long way to go back. In 2012 I was 26 years old and just welcomed my third and last child into the world. I was a high school drop out and I had a 4 year old little girl and a 2 year old boy and newborn daughter.

I was living in the projects as many young unwed mothers did at that time. Things were looking dark I was struggling In the worst way mentally. I was living off my kids child support of $400 a month. Not much when you have 3 kids under 5. Being a mom is the best thing that happened to me. When you are a parent you always should want to be the role model your kids can look up too. To be proud of you when they look back on their childhood. Knowing you did all you could to influence them to be a better version of themselves when they are all grown up.

I knew something had to change I had to make a better life for my kids, to be the role model they can be proud of. I wanted to do what was best for them. for that to happen I had to make big decisions.Let’s fast-forward into 2013. I started attending GED classes for young mothers, I was able to bring my kids with me while I attended classes which helped a lot. I am an over protective mother and being able to bring the kids was a life changing opportunity. It gave me the boost and the keys in a sense to open doors to many opportunities.( sorry if this post is long. I will try to give the short version) Long story short in 2014 I received my GED, my children were 6,4,and 2 at this time and in the fall of 2014 I started College courses .

College is where everything changed, my mindset changed and my goals for our life changed. I found my self walking more confidently, and in May of 2017 I graduated with an Associates in “Office Technology” and a Certificate in Medical Technology. I went from living in the projects to living in a small apartment in 2019. Then with saving money and planning. I was able to buy my house I’m living in 2021 all on my own. I promised my kids I would try to get them a house after living in apartments . The feeling of being able to keep that promise but to also be blessed to have a house was something I couldn’t describe. I felt like I made it in life, I’m not just a single mother of three, I was thriving!

In 2021 I met the man that is now my husband and we were married in 2024 ,and although rough days still visit me I just think about how far I have come in life and it just brings a smile to my face. Life will always have obstacles that seem so big that we start thinking second guessing our goals or life decisions. I always tell myself positive breeds positive and the same goes with negative breeds negativity. Life is going to have its ups and downs. Its alright to have a pity party for a few days, you just can’t unpack and stay in that mind set. There are a few questions to help you overcome set backs.Thee questions are: how are you going to handle it? Will you let it break you? Or make you stronger? I know that I am a stronger person mentally because of my past. Trust me it wasn’t easy but so worth it in the end when you come out on top of what you were going through. The key to making it to the top is never stop fighting. I hope when you read my blog it will bring warmth to your heart and a smile to your face. Until next time have a Blessed Day! If you enjoyed what you read, comment ” Fight” down below.

  • 5 Herbs I Come to Love

5 Herbs I Come to Love

    #1 Peppermint

Peppermint  is first of all so yummy and it is also beneficial to your body. Peppermint can be used for aiding in digestion. I myself drink peppermint tea every morning to help my tummy not feel like I’m on a roller coaster.

Peppermint can also help you if you have a small headache, you know that feeling where it’s not quite a headache yet but you know it’s heading in that direction.

Most of us know that suffering from muscle aches menthol helps relieve the pain even for a little bit. Peppermint has the same capabilities to help with muscles, using it topically can work wonders.

    #2 Lavender

Lavender is most known for the pleasant  aroma it gives off. Have you ever really stopped and wondered why? It’s because for its stress-free relieving properties and its often used in

aromatherapy and teas. Yes you can make yourself a cup of lavender tea ( I would mix mine with Peppermint) and you will be feeling calm and relaxed in no time. Lets not forget the sleep you will get once you introduce your body to lavender, it will be lights out in no time.

    #3 Ginger

Ginger surprised me a little. I take ginger every morning in capsule form to help with nausea, you that sick feeling in the mornings after rolling yourself out of bed to head to work. ( or is this just something  I only suffer from?) anyway carrying on.

Ginger stimulates digestion and movement through the digestive track. Ginger contains Gingerol is a fancy word that means it has a compound in it to help with anti-inflammatory effect, which may help reduce swelling and pain with conditions like arthritis. It won’t take your condition away but it might help with the swelling in your joints which may give you short term pain relief.

    #4 Ginseng

For those who have never heard of Ginseng, it is a powerful herb. Ginseng is often used to enhance physical and mental performance.

This is another herb I take by capsule every morning to help me handle the mental load of my day. It has the capabilities to help your immune system and lets be honest after covid any boost to our immune system is a good thing.

It is another herb that has anti-inflammatory properties to further help your body perform well. We are all adults here. It has been said it can help improve your libido, yes you heard me right. With going to work and family obligations that part of our lives gets put on the back burner. Well I just want to let you know Ginseng might be able to help awaken that part in you.

    #5 Ashwagandha

I know what you might be thinking, is the word English? The short answer is nope, Ashwagandha is a Sanskrit word from Hindu, wanna know what the word means? Too bad I’m going to tell you anyway. ashwa means “ for horse” and gandha means “ for smell” because it has been said the plants smell like a wet horse. Let me tell you why this herb is one of my favorites herbs. Another herb that helps lower stress, anxiety, and lower cortisol levels.

I have taken Ashwagandha. It gave me a calm feeling, not a zombie feeling. When you have that calm feeling you can sleep better too.I do suggest that no matter what I suggest or talking about please do your research or talk to your doctor before trying anything. I am not a doctor.

    Conclusion

These are my 5 favorite Herbs and if you choose to try them please take what I suggest with caution and always check with your doctor before taking anything new. If you made it this far thank you for visiting my cottage of random thoughts. Hope you enjoy this week’s topic. Have a blessed day. If you enjoyed this post and it sparked an interest in you.
