The second food hits the counter… here they come
Okay… can we talk about ants for a second?
Because WHY do they always show up right when you’re about to cook dinner 😤
Like… all day you were nowhere to be found,
but the second food comes out—boom. Whole family reunion on my counter.
Now yes, you could run to Walmart, grab a chemical spray, and hope for the best…
or… you can try the more natural route.
(Which I usually go for because I don’t love spraying chemicals where I’m about to cook)
I’ve looked into a few different options, and a lot of them use essential oils like:
peppermint, tea tree, clove, lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, orange, and cinnamon
You don’t need all of them—just pick one or mix a couple.
Then throw about 20 drops into a spray bottle with water, shake it up, and spray along windowsills, baseboards, and doorways.
Easy.
Now I will say…
I haven’t personally tried all of those oils yet.
BUT—
I have used orange and vinegar mixed with water… and let me tell you…
it works.
The only downside?
Your house is going to smell like vinegar for a minute 😅
But honestly… I’d rather deal with that than ants crawling all over everything.
And listen—if you’re not in the mood to play chemist in your kitchen, I get it 😂
“And honestly? If the vinegar tricks aren’t cutting it and you’re officially over sharing your kitchen with ants… the Terro liquid ant baits worked REALLY well for us too.
Fair warning though 😂You might actually see MORE ants at first because it attracts them to the bait. Don’t panic and immediately throw it away like I almost did 😅
The goal is for them to carry it back to the colony so it wipes out the problem at the source instead of just the random ants on your counter.
Not exactly glamorous… but neither is ants crawling toward your dinner.”
Go grab that Zevo spray from Walmart… it works too, and sometimes we just need the easy button.
No judgment over here.
So if you’re dealing with the same thing—
try whichever route fits your day and let me know what works for you.
Hope this helps until we meet again have a blessed day.
