Life Got Busy… and I Drifted Away
Lately, life has been busy in the best—and most exhausting—ways. Between the foster care journey, DIY projects around the house, everyday responsibilities, and just trying to keep up with normal life, I realized something quietly slipped to the back burner: one of my biggest passions.
Natural living.
Getting back into natural living and simple wellness habits has reminded me why I loved learning about natural remedies in the first place.
Somewhere between painting walls, organizing spaces, waiting for phone calls, and juggling real life, I stopped making time for the things that once fascinated me—herbs, simple remedies, getting back to the basics, and learning how nature can support our bodies in gentle ways.
That doesn’t mean I’m against modern medicine. Honestly, modern medicine has done incredible things and helps so many people every single day. I fully believe there’s a place for it, and sometimes it’s absolutely necessary.
But I’ve always been drawn to the idea of supporting the body naturally when possible. I like the simplicity of it. The slower pace. The idea of getting back to our roots and learning what people used long before everything came in a bottle with a long list of side effects.
And maybe that’s where I’m finding myself again—slowly reconnecting with something that once felt like a passion.
Not perfectly. Not as an expert. Just with curiosity.
Because sometimes life gets loud, and we forget the things that once made us feel grounded. And maybe this is my way of finding that part of myself again.
Why Natural Living Still Pulls Me In
Natural living has never been about perfection for me. It’s not about replacing doctors or pretending herbs can fix everything.
It’s about curiosity.
It’s about slowing down enough to ask questions, learning what works for your own body, and remembering that sometimes simple things can still matter.
I think that’s why I keep coming back to it. Even after stepping away for a while, something about natural remedies still feels comforting and familiar—like revisiting an old hobby you forgot you loved.
A Gentle Reminder About Natural Wellness
Natural wellness isn’t about replacing modern medicine — it’s about learning how simple, everyday choices can support your body in a gentler way.
From herbs and tinctures to magnesium and mindful routines, small natural habits can sometimes make a noticeable difference in how we feel physically and mentally.
The key is finding what works for your body, staying informed, and approaching wellness with curiosity rather than perfection.
A Natural Remedy I’ve Always Found Interesting: Castor Oil
One natural remedy that has always pulled me back into curiosity is castor oil.
It’s one of those old-school remedies that seems to show up everywhere once you start paying attention.
Here are a few simple facts about castor oil:
- Castor oil has been used for generations in natural wellness routines.
- Many people use castor oil packs as part of relaxation and self-care practices.
- It’s often used on skin and hair because of its thick, moisturizing texture.
- Some natural-living communities believe it may support circulation and comfort routines.
- It continues to be a popular remedy in holistic wellness spaces.
I’m not saying it’s a miracle fix—but it’s one of those natural remedies that keeps me curious and reminds me why I loved learning about this world in the first place.
Finding My Way Back
Maybe this isn’t about becoming an expert again.
Maybe it’s just about reconnecting with something that once made me feel grounded.
Life changes. Priorities shift. Sometimes we drift away from the things we love without even realizing it.
But maybe natural living doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
Maybe it starts with one small habit, one interesting remedy, or one quiet reminder that slowing down is okay.
And maybe this is just me finding my way back.
